church in gualdo tadino

The work is composed of 77 tiles of cm. 40×25, on an opaque background it has been finely decorated by hand, depicting in the upper part the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove immersed in rays of light. On the sides are depicted two little angels surrounded by Renaissance scrolls. In the central part are depicted three Saints very significant for the city. In the middle is depicted San Facondino “first bishop of Gualdo Tadino“, on the right his deacon San Gioventino, and on the left part San Pellegrino from which the homonymous town takes its name. All are depicted in the center of three arches decorated with a marble effect.

Virgo Fidelis, the Faithful Virgin, is a figure venerated by the Carabinieri (Police) as their protector. In the town of Gualdo Tadino, on the occasion of the seventh centenary of the death of Blessed Angelo da Casale, a votive shrine dedicated to Virgo Fidelis, along with Blessed Angelo and the hero Salvo d’Acquisto, was inaugurated. This vice-brigadier of the Carabinieri sacrificed his life to save a group of civilians during a roundup by Nazi troops. The beatification process for Salvo d’Acquisto is ongoing. The Banda dell’Arma dei Carabinieri participated in the event with a concert. The shrine depicts the Virgin Mary, Blessed Angelo, and the hero Salvo d’Acquisto, thus combining religious devotion and admiration for those who served with courage and sacrifice. A significant gesture that celebrates faith and duty toward the community.
